the essential energy and convert it to electricity.
This can be give inconvenience to people living
in apartments, condominiums and other small
spaces. To be able to generate up to 60 megawatts
of electricity, a space of 1,000 square meters
is required. Residential homes may have a
problem installing this kind of system in
their backyard.
2) One of the disadvantages of solar
energy is its expensive production. Even if
you compare it to the cost of production of
fossil fuel, solar energy still remains expensive.
It is about five times more expensive than
a regular fuel production. Even if the Photovoltaic
cells have already dropped their production
cost to 0.10, it is still considered costly.
3) Solar energy needs to have sufficient
amount of sunlight to be able to sustain the
efficiency of solar panels. In areas that
has inadequate source of sunlight, this can
be very difficult. Although new technologies
have resolved this problem, it is still considered
as one of the disadvantages in most places
where it rains a lot.
Solar energy is a free energy resource from
nature. This source of energy should be utilized
to provide people with clean and healthy environment.
However, with all the disadvantages of solar
energy, people, companies and state government
are skeptical in mass producing this energy
resource. That is why experts and scientists
are now finding ways to eliminate the disadvantages
of solar energy by doing continuous research.
